Storm Dimensions again takes up the subject of the relationship between the US president and the convicted sex offender, pimp and former stockbroker, following a series of emails exchanged between the self-styled Epstein and his partner in crime Ghislaine Maxwell and author and journalist Michael Wolff.
came from the Democratic camp and apparently have caused serious panic both in the US president himself and in members of his administration, but also in the Republicans.
Panic and attempt to manage the crisis by the government
The response from the Trump administration and the president himself appears well-coordinated and aimed at quickly closing the issue again, as have previous efforts. More specifically, the beginning was made with the publication of more than 20,000 pages of documents from Epstein’s archive. Officially the goal of the Republican-controlled House Oversight Committee is to demonstrate their commitment to transparency in the case, but unofficially, or rather politically, they are aiming to “cover up” the revelations from the emails that were focused on by Democrats.
The White House spokeswoman used the “there’s nothing to see here” tactic
Then White House spokeswoman Caroline Levitt argued in a press briefing that: “These emails prove absolutely nothing, other than the fact that President Trump did nothing wrong. Jeffrey Epstein was a member of Mar-a-Lago until President Trump kicked him out because Jeffrey Epstein was a pedophile and a disgusting human being.”
Levitt also claimed that the redacted name in the series of emails, where Trump spent time with one of Epstein’s victims, is that of Virginia Giuffre, the woman also involved in the ex-Prince Andrew affair. According to Levitt, the fact that Giuffre – who allegedly committed suicide in April of this year – is mentioned in this email is something positive for the president since: “She had maintained that there was never anything inappropriate that she had seen, that President Trump was always extremely professional and friendly towards her.”
Trump rage against Democrats, warnings against Republicans
The baton was taken from Levitt by Donald Trump himself, who in a post on Truth Social tried to defend himself, claiming that: “Democrats are trying to bring back the Jeffrey Epstein scam, because they will do anything to distract attention from how badly they have done with the Shutdown and so many other issues. Only a very evil or stupid Republican would fall into this trap. Democrats have cost our country $1.5 trillion with their recent actions, violently shutting down the country while putting many people at risk — and they must pay a fair price. There should be no distraction with Epstein or anything else, and the Republicans involved should focus solely on reopening our country and repairing the massive damage the Democrats have done!”

Pressure on MPs, but with “transparency”
At first reading this post is directed against the Democrats, but the references he makes to the Republicans are of particular interest as at the same time as the above, there were reports that both Trump himself, as well as the Secretary of Justice Pam Bondi, and also the director of the FBI, Cass Patel made moves to prevent at least two Republican congressmen Lauren Bobert of Colorado and Nancy Mays of the South Carolina, to support in a vote, a bill that requires the full release of research records of Epstein, who took his own life in 2019.
Both Bobert and Mays have signed a petition to get this bill passed. The request had gathered 217 signatures with these two MPs, while it needed 218 signatures to be binding and thus trigger a vote. The 218th signature came shortly before the House of Representatives voted on the deal to lift the shutdown, as Arizona Democratic Rep. Adelita Grijalva, after being sworn in and taking her seat, signed it. The petition was also supported by two other Republican lawmakers, former MAGA stalwart Marjorie Taylor Green of Georgia and Trump’s main rival Thomas Massey of Kentucky.
The fact that there were discussions between the above-mentioned members of the government or other high-ranking officials (it is not clear if they themselves were present) and possibly also between President Trump and Bobert, (but also Trump’s attempt to speak with Mace by phone) are confirmed by the New York Times from their sources, as well as by the White House spokesperson, Caroline Levitt, who in her briefing admitted the these communications and described it as an “example of transparency”.
In the Business Room of the White House the meeting with Bobert
In fact, according to reports, the meeting of Trump administration officials with Bobert took place in the White House operations room, which is traditionally not used for discussions with members of parliament, but for crisis management issues or to oversee military operations. It remains to be seen what will happen in the relevant vote for which the way is now open.
