Mainland Portugal and the Madeira archipelago have been affected since Wednesday by the effects of depression Cláudia with strong rain, wind and sea disturbances, according to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA).
According to information available on the ANEPC website, at 7:00 am, the majority of incidents were recorded in the region West, Leiria, Coimbra, Lisbon Metropolitan Area and Setúbal peninsula.
Contacted by the Lusa agency, a source from the Sub-Regional Command of the Setúbal Peninsula indicated that the most affected municipalities are Seixal, Barreiro, Moita, Montijo and Alcochete.
According to the same source, there are a few dozen incidents, mainly tree falls and floods and the National Road 378, in Fernão Ferro, was cut off by flooding.
Also contacted by the Lusa agency, the Sub-Regional Command of Greater Lisbon, the Lisbon Firefighters Regiment and the Sub-Regional Command of the West said they had recorded several incidents related to flooding on public roads, but not serious.

O IPMA raised from orange to redthe most serious, the warning of rain, sometimes heavy and persistent, until 09:00 this Thursday.
In the districts of Viseu, Porto, Guarda, Santarém, Viana do Castelo, Lisbon, Leiria, Castelo Branco, Aveiro, Coimbra and Braga, orange will be in force until 09:00, due to “rainfall, sometimes strong and persistent”.
The warning for Évora, Beja and Portalegre extends until 12:00. Already Faro is under orange warning until 3pm for the same reasons.
Faro, Setúbal, Lisbon and Beja are also under yellow warning until the weekend due to sea unrest, with the possibility of “southwest waves measuring 4 to 5.5 meters, especially in the windward side.
