According to information provided to the report, Jansen was driving a white Chevrolet S10 pickup truck with license plate PHC-2A75, in the direction of Porto Velho–Rio Branco, when he entered the oncoming lane and collided head-on with a gray Bertolini AMZ trailer. The impact was so strong that the cargo vehicle left the highway and stopped in a wooded area.

The truck was completely destroyed. The driver suffered multiple injuries, including chest trauma, a broken leg, a deep cut on his left arm and severe head trauma. He was rescued by teams from the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu), intubated while still on site and taken to the Rio Branco Emergency Room, where he remains in serious condition.

The driver of the truck only had minor injuries. The Federal Highway Police (PRF) isolated the area for forensic work and reported that Jansen showed visible signs of intoxication. Moments before the collision, he almost ran over a pedestrian near the corporation’s tax office.
