Guardia Civil dismantles network that used drones to transport drugs between Morocco and Spain

The Spanish Guardia Civil announced this Wednesday the dismantling of a criminal network that used homemade drones to transport hashish from Morocco to Spain.

The aircraft, with a range of over 200 kilometers, were capable of making several trips per night and transporting up to 200 kilos of drugs. In total, eight people were arrested and 150 kilos of hashish were seized, in addition to almost 320 thousand euros in cash.

Authorities highlight the sophistication of the scheme, which used technology adapted to escape radars and operate on night flights between the two countries.
