On February 9, the left defender opened the scoring in Kasimpasa’s home victory over Rizespor (3-2), with a first-time shot from distance. Kévin Rodrigues is among those nominated, along with names like Lamine Yamal and Declan Rice.

Portuguese international footballer Kévin Rodrigues is among the 11 nominated for the award of FIFA, with a goal scored by Turkish side Kasimpasa against Rizespor in 2024/25, the organization revealed today.

On February 9, in a match on the 23rd round of the Turkish top flight, the left defender opened the scoring in Kasimpasa’s home victory over Rizespor (3-2), with a first-time shot from distance, following a counter clearance, in the 26th minute.

Kévin Rodrigues, 31, was born in France, but has dual Gallic and Portuguese nationality and has already won three caps for the Portuguese main team, and last summer he left Kasimpasa for Gaziantep, also in the Turkish championship.

Established in the women’s sector from 2024, the Marta award includes the Brazilian striker herself among the 11 candidates, with a goal coming from the North Americans from Orlando Pride, in a group completed by Jordyn Bugg (Seattle Reign), Mariona Caldentey (Arsenal), Ashley Cheatley (Brentford), Kyra Cooney-Cross (Australia), Jon Ryong-jong (North Korea), Vivianne Miedema (Netherlands), Kishi Núñez (Argentina), Lizbeth Ovalle (Tigres), Ally Sentnor (United States) and Khadija Shaw (Manchester City).

The goals were chosen by FIFA, in partnership with several figures from the sport, and fall in the period between August 11, 2024 and August 2, 2025.

Voting began today and will run until December 3rd, on the official FIFA website, with the winners of each category being defined with 50% of the public’s preferences and another 50% from a panel of experts from the world football regulator.

In addition to the Puskas and Marta awards, FIFA will award other awards at the annual The Best gala, the date and location of which have not yet been announced, with the Portuguese Nuno Mendes and Vitinha, both from the European champion and four-time French champion Paris Saint-Germain, in the fight for the distinction of best male player, while the national coach, the Spanish Roberto Martínez, will compete for best coach, after having won the League of Nations.
