The Thursday afternoon accident on road III/2142 in Necpaloch (Martin district) had tragic consequences. After the collision of two passenger cars, the life of one of the two female pedestrians walking along the roadside was extinguished. TASR was informed about this by the Žilina regional police spokeswoman Zuzana Šefčíková.

She added that the driver behind the wheel of a Toyota passenger car was avoiding pedestrians, and while crossing to the left side of the road, for unknown reasons, a collision with a Nissan vehicle occurred, which performed the preceding maneuver. “As a result of their collision, the Nissan vehicle was thrown and turned into the place where the pedestrians were at the time. One of them suffered injuries from which she unfortunately died on the spot. The second pedestrian suffered injuries that required her to be transported to the hospital“, explained Šefčíková.
She added that the drivers submitted to breath tests with negative results. “Further circumstances, as well as the exact causes of the tragic traffic accident, are the subject of an ongoing investigation,” Šefčíková added.
