One of the most important vitamins in autumn and winter is vitamin C. It plays a key role in the proper functioning of the immune system. It supports the production and activity of white blood cells that fight infections and acts as a powerful antioxidant, protecting cells from free radical damage. It also helps in tissue regeneration and supports wound healing. Regularly consuming vitamin C can shorten the duration of a cold and alleviate its symptoms, although it does not prevent the behavior itself.
One of the best ways to naturally supplement vitamin C is sea buckthorn berries. These small balls are a real wealth of vitamins and minerals. Sea buckthorn berries contain more vitamin C than lemon. Depending on the variety, sea buckthorn fruits contain from 275 mg to 2500 mg of vitamin C per 100 grams. But that’s not all, sea buckthorn also contains B vitamins (support the nervous system and metabolism), vitamin K (improve blood clotting), beta-carotene (positively affects eyesight and mucous membranes) and unsaturated fatty acids, which have a beneficial effect on the skin and the cardiac system. Eating sea buckthorn fruit every day will have a positive effect. It will strengthen it and make it less susceptible to infections.
