Caramel apples are impressive and at the same time a simple and sweet snack, perfect for St. Andrew’s Day. Just stick apples on sticks and then dip them in freshly prepared caramel. You can make this from sugar heated over low heat until it begins to melt and turns golden. Then you only need to add butter and cream to create a smooth, aromatic mass. Once the apples are covered with warm caramel, they are immediately covered with crushed biscuits, which create a crunchy, sweet coating. This dessert looks beautiful on the table, delights with its simplicity and taste, and is an unusual snack that will impress your guests.
Ingredients:
- 6 small apples,
- 300 g sugar,
- 50 g of butter,
- 150 g of cream 30%,
- 60 ml of water (optional),
- 150 g of biscuits.
How to do it:
Remove the stems from the apples. Wash them thoroughly and throw them into the pot. Boil water in a kettle and pour it over the apples. Mix them carefully in the pot and leave for 3-4 minutes. Remove and dry. Then insert a thick skewer stick into the center.
Place the sugar in a pot (optionally with 60 ml of water, but this is not necessary if you have more time). Heat over medium heat, without stirring, until the sugar dissolves and turns amber in color. Remove from heat, add butter and mix vigorously. Slowly pour in the cream, stirring carefully until the butter melts. Mix until smooth, thick sauce.
Crumble the biscuits in a food processor or put them in a bag and break them into small pieces with a rolling pin. Pour into a bowl.
Dip each apple in warm, liquid caramel. Then immediately roll in crushed biscuits, pressing down so that they stick well.
Place the apples on baking paper to let the caramel harden.
