Algarve bets on sustainable luxury and business tourism in two European events

British elect the Algarve as the cheapest vacation destination in the world in 2025: See reasons

Algarve Tourism participates, throughout this month, in two relevant European events in the sector — the Ecoluxury Fair and IBTM World — with the aim of affirming the region as an authentic, competitive destination and committed to a responsible tourism model with high added value.

The presence at the two fairs, which bring together some of the main international decision-makers and operators, is part of the regional organization’s strategy to diversify markets and raise the international notoriety of the Algarve, promoting a segmented offer that combines luxury tourism and business tourism. There are two axes considered fundamental to reduce seasonality and drive sustainable and qualified growth in the sector.

Until November 15th, the Algarve returns to the Ecoluxury Fair, in Rome, an event recognized for positioning sustainability as a central element of luxury tourism. Participation reinforces the region’s commitment to a “conscious” tourism development model, capable of providing exclusive experiences “that respect the territory and value local identity”.

Algarve Tourism thus seeks to generate new business opportunities with premium tour operators specialized in sustainable travel — a segment that is experiencing strong expansion and is increasingly influential in global trends.

IBTM World: Algarve presents a consolidated offer for professional events

A few days later, from the 18th to the 20th of November, the company will be present at IBTM World, in Barcelona, one of the largest international events dedicated to the planning of corporate events, incentives and congresses, which brings together thousands of professionals from all over the world.

Integrated into the Portugal stand, the destination will be represented by a large delegation of companies associated with the Algarve Tourism Association (ATA), including 13 hotel groups, which in total represent around 60 units in the region. The objective is to present the Algarve as a versatile, competitive destination prepared to host professional events of different sizes and types.

This robust participation confirms the maturity and consistency of the regional offer in a segment considered strategic to stimulate tourist demand in the medium and low seasons.

André Gomes, president of Turismo do Algarve, highlights that “more than promoting the destination, these participations are a way of showing the Algarve that is now asserting itself in the world — a sustainable, innovative destination capable of inspiring demanding travelers and attracting businesses that value the authenticity of the region. This is a work of continuity. Through a consistent and strategic international presence, we continue to consolidate the region’s notoriety and create new concrete opportunities for local companies”.
