Bad Bunny wins album of the year at the Latin Grammys

With the album ‘DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS’, the Puerto Rican singer was the big name in the 26th edition of the award, winning in five categories out of 12 nominations

The Puerto Rican won the for Album of the Year for “DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS” and was the big name at the awards ceremony held on Thursday (13) in Las Vegas. Bad Bunny arrived as a big favorite for the 26th edition of the award and won in five categories out of a total of 12 nominations.

“Thank you to all the people who worked on this album, there are many and I carry them all in my heart,” said Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio upon accepting the album of the year award.

Bad Bunny, who, due to the president’s migration operations decided not to include the United States in his world tour that begins this month, and dedicated the award to “all the children and young people of Latin America”.

The artist also won awards in the categories of Best Urban Music Album, Best Urban Song, Best Urban Fusion/Interpretation and Best Reggaeton Interpretation.

In the Portuguese language categories, Liniker, who made history in 2022 by becoming the first trans artist to win a Latin Grammy, won three gramophone awards, including Best Contemporary Pop Album in the Portuguese Language for the acclaimed “Caju”, as well as Best Urban Interpretation in the Portuguese Language (“Caju”) and Best Song in the Portuguese Language (“Veludo Marrom”).

Another highlight of the night was the Argentine hip hop duo Ca7riel & Paco Amoroso, who triumphed in five out of 10 nominations, including the Best Pop Song category with “El Día del Amigo”.

The explosive duo announced unusual plans for the Latin Grammys they won: melting them down to make a necklace. Faced with insistence from the press, Paco Amoroso, 31 years old, reiterated that the figurines would take on a new form: “A necklace that I will wear around my neck”.

“Palmeras en el Jardín”, by Alejandro Sanz, won Record of the Year, while won the Song of the Year award for “Si Antes te hubiera conocido conocido”. Mexican Paloma Morphy won in the New Artist category.
