Electric vehicle manufacturer BYD officially launches its premium Denza brand in Brazil next Tuesday (18). After months of a pre-launch strategy to get closer to businesspeople and the luxury segment, the company will announce details of the launches of two models in Brazil.
Born from one in 2010, Denza is now fully controlled by the Chinese manufacturer and positions itself as a “premium mobility brand oriented towards design and technology”. It arrives in Brazil with the Z9 GT sports car and the B5 offroad SUV, which will be sold at its own dealerships.
The Z9 GT model officially appeared for the first time at Vogue’s 50th anniversary party in September, amid efforts to embrace sophistication trends. In another action in the same month, the company presented the vehicle at the opening of the “Karibu Tanzânia” exhibition, by photographer Emerson Lima.

For the inauguration on the 18th, the company will bring its founder and global CEO, Wang Chuanfu. He was already in Brazil at the beginning of October for a meeting with 200 businesspeople and opinion leaders “to present how the brand that is arriving in the country redefines the concept of luxury by combining cutting-edge technology and clean mobility”, points out the company.
“The automotive industry is undergoing the most profound transformation in its history. The first step of this transformation was electrification — the transition from the internal combustion engine. But now we are entering a new era: the era of intelligence. This is the future, not just electric, but smart. Not just mobility, but smart mobility,” said Wang Chuanfu.
In addition to Brazil, Denza’s global expansion included, at the beginning of the year, its arrival in Europe. With the luxury brand, BYD competes in the market with manufacturers such as BMW and Mercedez-Benz itself, a partner in the venture to found Denza.
