Drama at a train station in Paris: A policeman shot a wanted man who used a knife!

A policeman shot a man armed with a knife at the Montparnasse train station in Paris. During the attack, another man who was not involved was slightly wounded in the leg by a ricocheted bullet. TASR informs about it with reference to the DPA agency and the Le Figaro newspaper.

A 44-year-old man was shot he was wanted for threatening violence to his wife and children and was wanted. The wanted man arrived on Friday shortly before 3:00 p.m. by train from the city of Rennes. When he got out of it, he had a knife in his hand, the blade of which he held to his neck and cut himself. As he did not respond to the calls of the policemen, one of them shot him in the leg.

The condition of the shot victim is stabilized and he was taken to the hospital. According to the French national railway company SNCF, the station, which is heavily used during weekends and rush hour, has been partially evacuated. As a result, trains were delayed for more than an hour, but the situation is expected to return to normal by the evening.

The Paris prosecutor’s office told Le Figaro that two separate investigations have been launched into the incident. One concerns the attempt to murder of a public official by a person and other circumstances in which a police officer used a firearm.
