Former US Vice President Al Gore visited this Thursday (13) the Bioeconomy Park, created in , and said he would take what he learned there to the world.
He was in the project’s two warehouses, built in a revitalized region of the port of the capital of Pará.
In one of the warehouses, there is an incubator for startups focused on the bioeconomy, to help put together the business plan. In another, it operates a factory that produces oils and components from roots and fruits, for use in pharmaceuticals and beauty products.
During the visit, Gore said he was impressed and said he wanted to return to Belém to learn more about the project. He also stated that this is an excellent way to engage people in protecting forests.
In the absence of an official American delegation, the country’s former vice president alongside politicians who oppose President Donald Trump.
