Orbán revealed the truth: We don’t pay a penny for the exemption from sanctions, Trump loves Hungarians!

Hungary does not pay anything for the exemption from US sanctions on Russian oil and natural gas, which was agreed upon by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and President Donald Trump. This was emphasized by Prime Minister Orbán in a regular Friday interview with public radio station Kossuth Rádió, the TASR correspondent in Budapest reports.

  • Hungary received an exemption for Russian oil and gas without payments.
  • Trump supported Hungary because of his positive feelings towards Hungarians.
  • Orbán emphasizes the importance of harmonious relations between Hungary and Russia.
  • Server 444.hu reported on Hungary’s financial obligations to the USA.
  • Orbán believes in Trump’s efforts to avoid a war conflict.

“We didn’t pay a cent for this exemption because the President of the United States loves Hungarians,” he emphasized. “First of all, it must be said that this is a Christian president who believes that it is good when good things happen in the world, not bad. That is why he hates war.” pointed out Orbán. According to him, Trump is a person who sees war as senseless, hates it, and therefore would stop it.

The Hungarian Prime Minister added to the sanctions that the American president wants to put pressure on the Russians. “But he doesn’t want to hurt those he loves. It’s that simple,” argued Orbán.

The 444.hu server published an analytical article with the title in this regard “We pay Trump big so we can keep paying Putin”. It follows that although Orbán basically paid nothing, made very significant commitments in the fields of atomic energy, liquefied gas, the arms industry and science, totaling approximately $1.4 billion (1.2 billion euros).

The Hungarian Prime Minister also commented on the issue of Budapest’s relationship with Moscow. He noted that only Hungary has the “ability” to talk to the Russians. “I have invested more than a decade of my life in making Russian-Hungarian relations reasonable and beneficial for both countries, especially for the Hungarians, despite the bad historical background,” concluded Orbán.
