Lucas Moura once again reported pain in his right knee and is doubtful for the classic between São Paulo and Corinthians, which will be held next Thursday (20), at 7:30 pm (Brasília time), at the Neo Química Arena. The player had already undergone two recent interventions in the same place: an infiltration in July and an arthroscopy in August.

According to columnist Pedro Lopes, from UOL, the current discomfort is located in the back of the knee, precisely the region that was already being monitored by the medical department.

In addition to the immediate risk for Majestoso, there is fear that the problem will also compromise the final stretch of the season, already marked by many absences.

Lucas’ injury history

Lucas’s first injury there occurred on March 10, in the match against Palmeiras for Paulistão, when he suffered a strain in the posterior capsule. He returned to acting in May, but felt new pain, requiring deeper treatments.

After experiencing knee pain again, Lucas underwent an ultrasound-guided medication infiltration in July.

As the discomfort persisted, he needed to undergo arthroscopy in August, a procedure that required more recovery time. The striker only returned to play on September 25th.

São Paulo absences due to injury

Lucas’ situation is not isolated within São Paulo. The club has players in the medical department this year. Currently, there are 11 athletes out due to injury.

Seven athletes needed surgery. In total, the team has already recorded 62 absences due to physical problems.

With so many players out, the coach and the committee need to constantly look for alternatives, reorganize the team and adapt strategies.
