Six tourist experiences in Acre gained a special section in the Get to Know Brazil Catalog, a special edition prepared by the Ministry of Tourism (MTur) for the 30th United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP30). The event, hosted for the first time in Brazil, takes place between November 10th and 21st, in Belém do Pará. The publication is available in the InfoZones spread across Belém, in the Espaço Meet o Brasil of the Ministry of Tourism, in the COP30 GreenZone and also in the .
Acre makes up the catalog alongside the states of the Legal Amazon: Amapá, Amazonas, Maranhão, Mato Grosso, Rondônia, Roraima and Tocantins, in addition to highlighting Pará and the capital Belém. The objective is to present Brazil as a destination for environmental conservation, social inclusion and cultural appreciation.
For Acre’s Secretary of Tourism and Entrepreneurship, Marcelo Messias, COP30 is an important event that makes it possible to showcase the beauty of Acre to participating countries: “Acre’s experiences reinforce how tourism has enormous potential in economic development while at the same time promoting environmental conservation. It is a source of pride for every Acre resident to show the values we have here.”
“COP30 is an important event to strengthen environmental preservation policies in Brazil and the world. Acre, therefore, is a reference as a state that preserves its biodiversity. Therefore, we could not be left out when it comes to sustainable tourism, which is why we submitted the main itineraries that we have focused on nature tourism, publicizing our routes to the world, such as Caminhos das Aldeias e da Biodiversidade, where our indigenous festivals are located, the Serra do Divisor national park, among other attractions tourism that conserves the environment, culture, history and memory of our original peoples”, highlighted Sete’s tourism director, Jackson Viana.
The selection brings together 100 tourist experiences from all states and the Federal District and was based on a survey carried out with the Tourism Secretariats of the Federation Units, entities of the National Tourism Council (CNT) and the Brazilian Agency for International Tourism Promotion (Embratur). The curation was carried out by the General Coordination of Tourist Products and Experiences of the Ministry of Tourism.
