The probable cause of the accident was carelessness

The driver lost control of the vehicle and the minibus crashed into a tree. At the time of the accident, the road in the Padangbulia village area was dry. A representative of the local police said that the driver’s inattention was the likely cause of the accident.

Eight injured passengers were treated in two local hospitals. The Indonesian driver escaped without serious injuries and was arrested on the spot.

The AP agency recalls that traffic accidents are common in Indonesia due to low safety standards and problematic infrastructure.
