The Brazilian Association of Meat Exporting Industries (Abiec) celebrated this Friday (14) the suspension of tariffs on on part of agricultural products, which includes Brazilian products. “The measure reinforces confidence in the technical dialogue between the two countries and recognizes the importance of Brazilian meat, marked by quality, regularity and contribution to global food security”, says the note. “The tariff reduction returns predictability to the sector and creates more appropriate conditions for the smooth functioning of commerce”, he continues.

The United States is the second largest beef market in Brazil, with a relevant weight for the entire export flow, and since the implementation of tariffs in June, the price of products in the United States has doubled, with coffee increasing by 40%.

The Council of Brazilian Coffee Exporters (Cecafé) also took a stance on the measure, which highlighted that Brazil has two tariffs: the base tariff of 10% and the additional tariff of 40%, referring to Article 301, and warned that “analysis is needed to understand whether this new act applies only to the base tariff of 10%, the 40% tariff or both”, and that they are in contact with their American counterparts “to carefully analyze the situation and get an idea of the real scenario that presents itself”.

In the decree signed by Donald Trump, this Friday, it was determined that “the modifications will come into force for goods imported for consumption or removed from a warehouse for consumption from 00:01 (US Eastern Standard Time) on November 13, 2025”, adds the document. With the decree, the tendency is for the prices of Brazilian products in the USA to decrease.
