At least three people have died and three others have been injured this Friday after being run over by an out-of-service bus that crashed into a stop in the . The police in the Swedish capital have reported that efforts to identify the deceased continue, while the injured are hospitalized, according to a statement published on their website.
Before knowing the toll of victims, the Prime Minister of Sweden, did not want to speculate on the reasons for the incident and instead asked the population to let “the police, the ambulance and rescue services” work because “they now have a very difficult and important job to do.”
The incident occurred around 3:23 p.m., at a stop in the Östermalm neighborhood (northeast). The security forces limit themselves to explaining that “the incident is being investigated as an aggravated homicide” but have indicated that at the moment the causes are unknown. However, according to the SVT television channel, the police do not believe that it is a terrorist act. They are investigating it, in fact, as “serious negligence” on the part of the driver, who has survived and is being questioned.
