Greta Thunberg arrives at COP30 for demonstration

Swedish activist participates in the People’s Summit March during COP30 this Saturday (15.Nov.2025)

Swedish activist Greta Thunberg arrived on Friday (14.Nov.2025) in Belém (PA) to participate in the People’s Summit March during COP30. The event is scheduled for this Saturday morning (Nov 15) and will bring together organizations and movements linked to socio-environmental issues, with a concentration in the São Brás market.

Upon arriving at Belém airport, Thunberg was received by supporters and raised her keffiyeh in reference to the Palestinian cause. In October, Greta and 170 activists were expelled from Israel for participating in the Global Sumud humanitarian flotilla.

“All legal rights of the participants in this publicity stunt have been and will continue to be fully respected. The lies they are spreading are part of their pre-planned fake news campaign”said the Israeli government.

The flotilla brought together more than 40 vessels with the aim of breaking the maritime blockade that Israel maintains in Palestine. The protesters were detained by the Israeli government. In a statement, the Swedish Foreign Ministry stated that Greta was left under precarious conditions in prison.

“She reported dehydration. She received insufficient amounts of water and food. She also stated that she had developed rashes that she suspected were caused by bedbugs. She spoke of harsh treatment and said she had been sitting for long periods on hard surfaces.”declared the Swedish government.
