Gaza’s health ministry, run by the militant group Hamas, confirmed on Saturday that it had received the remains of 15 Palestinians from Israel a day earlier under a US-brokered ceasefire deal. Their admission was announced on Friday by Násir’s hospital in Khan Júnis, TASR writes, according to reports from the Reuters agency and the Times of Israel (TOI) website.

“The Ministry of Health announces the receipt of 15 bodies of martyrs, which were released yesterday, Friday, by the Israeli occupiers through the Red Cross. The total number of bodies received under the agreement reached 330,” the ministry said, adding that it had so far managed to identify 97 of them.
The bodies were returned to Gaza in exchange for the remains of 73-year-old Israeli hostage Meny Godard, which Hamas returned on Thursday. Since the conclusion of the ceasefire on October 10, the militants have returned to Israel the remains of 25 hostages, according to the agreement they are to return three more bodies.
