The term of three mandated European Prosecutors in the Athens office, which was expiring shortly, was renewed for five years, by unanimous decision of the College of European Prosecutors.
Thus, with the vote of all 24 members of the College, the mandated European prosecutors Popi Papandreou, Chariklia Thanou and Dionysis Mouzakis will continue their work at the office of the European Prosecutor in our country, investigating a number of cases that are already in progress, such as the one on the illegal subsidies of OPEKEPE.
The three prosecutors together with their colleagues, the Appeals Prosecutors, who staff the office of the European Public Prosecutor’s Office of Greece, for several months have collected a huge amount of data on the case of illegal subsidies and have full and in-depth knowledge of the case that concerns political and social life. The office of the mandated Prosecutors also has other open cases that have been placed under the control of the European Public Prosecutor’s Office, as their financial object concerns the budget of the European Union.
