Washington – US President Donald Trump has issued a decree exempting a number of food imports from the comprehensive tariffs imposed at the beginning of the year. These include beef, tomatoes, coffee and bananas, the White House announced on Friday. The order is part of a broader effort by Trump and his administration to respond to Americans’ growing concerns about persistently high food prices. The new exceptions come into effect retroactively. Trump reshaped the global trading system with the introduction of basic tariffs of ten percent on imports from almost all countries.
