Lídia was removed from her home by rescuers after the building where she lives caught fire.

“I saw it passing by our building and that’s it. Then it seemed like I fell asleep, maybe twenty minutes. And then there was an explosion and everything fell on top of me. The windows, the balcony fell apart, the bathroom door was ripped off”, reports Lídia, a resident interviewed by SIC.

Affected residents do not know when, or if, they will be able to return home. For this reason, he asks the West to pay more attention to the Ukrainians.

“We are innocent, simple people, and our children are also innocent. I thought my grandchildren would never see this… and I myself was born right after the war. I thought I wouldn’t see war, but my grandchildren are living a… I want thank them (the Europeans) and I want them to pay more attention to us. More, more attention. Because we are suffering here, and it is terrible”, appeals the same resident.
