Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhães was cut from the Brazilian squad due to a muscle injury in his right thigh, the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) reported this Sunday (16).
The announcement came a day after he left the field during the friendly against Senegal at his club’s stadium in north London. .
The 27-year-old, who has played in every Premier League match for leaders Arsenal this season, will not travel to Lille, the CBF added.
The statement did not provide a return date for . A hamstring injury suffered by Gabriel in April had already ruled him out for more than three months.
Arsenal accumulates important absences in defense
The injury represents a blow for Arsenal, who will face rivals Tottenham and Chelsea later this month.

Gabriel is the second Gunners defender to be injured in the last week. Italy coach Gennaro Gattuso confirmed on Saturday (15) that Riccardo Calafiori left the national team after suffering an injury.
Strikers Kai Havertz and Viktor Gyökeres are also out injured, as are wingers Noni Madueke and Gabriel Martinelli and attacking midfielder Martin Odegaard.
Striker Gabriel Jesus returned to training after tearing his cruciate ligament in January, but has not yet officially reappeared.
