National president of the PP said he wanted to run again for a seat in the Senate for Piauí
The senator (PP-PI) stated that he will not accept being vice-president on any right-wing ticket for 2026. According to the congressman, speculation was distorting his statements and creating the impression that he was acting to fill the vacancy.
“Everything I said, they were distorting it because they said I wanted to be vice-president”, declared in an interview with the newspaper , on Saturday (15.Nov.2025).
Ciro said that he personally communicated his decision to the former president (PL) during a recent visit to house arrest. “I have already informed President Bolsonaro that my name is not available for this”he stated.
He also commented on the definition of the right-wing ticket and said that the discussion about the vice-president will be discussed later. “This vice issue will be discussed later”he said. According to the senator, any competitive name will depend on the support of the former president: “The biggest voter in the center and right camp is President Bolsonaro.”
Ciro also stated that the right intends to announce its candidate by December. “We have to announce who the candidate from the center and right of the country will be.”
He then reinforced that he will run for re-election to the Senate. “I’m going to be a candidate for the Senate for my state. I think I have to fulfill my role in Piauí.”
The senator also stated that he had ended the friction with (PL) on the topic of the Presidency. The deputy had suggested that Ciro was seeking the vice-presidency, but, according to the Piauí native, the misunderstanding has already been resolved. “I called him and we already clarified. We turned the page”these.
