The agency issued warnings of storms, strong winds and accumulated rain; areas of the South and Southeast are on red alert
The (National Institute of Meteorology) expanded alerts to 15 states this Sunday (16.Nov.2025). The agency’s map shows new warnings for storms, winds and accumulated rainfall across a large part of the country.
The areas on red alert, classified as highly dangerous, are concentrated in the South and Southeast.
Red alert
The highest level of risk appears in regions of Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina, Paraná, Mato Grosso do Sul and São Paulo. These points indicate the possibility of intense rain, gusts of wind and damage associated with the event.
Orange alert
The danger alert covers sections of Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Goiás, Minas Gerais, São Paulo, Paraná, Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul. There are also areas in orange in Ceará, Piauí, Amazonas and Acre. The level indicates moderate risk, with a chance of storms and strong winds.
Yellow alert
The range of potential danger covers a large area. The warning includes Amazonas, Roraima, Pará, Amapá, Rondônia, Acre, Tocantins, Maranhão, Piauí, Bahia, Goiás, Minas Gerais, the Federal District, Mato Grosso and São Paulo. The warning indicates the possibility of rain and less intense wind.
States with more than one type of alert
Some states appear with more than one color on the map. This is the case of São Paulo, Paraná, Santa Catarina, Rio Grande do Sul, Mato Grosso do Sul, Minas Gerais, Goiás, Piauí and Ceará. In these areas, conditions vary by region, with changes in risk levels.
