According to São Paulo, Oscar underwent a detailed medical investigation and was diagnosed with an episode of vasovagal syncope, a condition that causes fainting due to a sudden drop in blood pressure and heart rate.

Vasovagal syncope is the most common cause of fainting and occurs when the vagus nerve overreacts to certain triggers, such as stress or pain, leading to a sudden drop in blood pressure and heart rate. Oscar collapsed during pre-season examinations for the 2026 season, when he was quickly attended to by medical staff and taken to hospital.
On Wednesday (13), the player used his social networks to thank his fans for their support and express optimism. “Thank you very much for the messages and prayers. Everything will be fine, God willing,” he wrote on Instagram. The midfielder, who has been at São Paulo since 2022 and has a contract with the club until 2027, has also faced a series of injuries in recent months, including a recent problem with his left calf.
