Rayssa Leal is five-time champion of the STU Pro Tour in Rio – 11/16/2025 – Sport

Rayssa Leal won this Sunday (16) the fifth street skateboarding championship at the STU Pro Tour in Rio. Since 2021, she has been the winner of the Praça Duó track, in Barra da Tijuca, one of the main skateboarding spots in Rio de Janeiro.

Rayssa received a score of 75.69 in the first of her three laps, enough to seal the achievement. “I did everything I wanted, I mean, almost everything, because I really wanted to get my last lap right, which was already the Golden Run (title lap)”, he stated.

What doesn’t bother her anymore is the fact that she no longer needs to wear a helmet from now on. As he will turn 18 in January, this was the last stage in which he had to use the accessory, an obligation that any skater has until he reaches the age of majority.

“It’s the end of a great journey. You’ve seen me since I was a little fairy, when I didn’t even wear a helmet yet. I started using it in competitions and, now, I’m going to take it off again. And for good. People from all over Brazil were already walking around without helmets, now a new generation is coming and I’m the one who’s going to wait for them to take off their helmets.”

The race was marked by rain and had to be stopped before the third round. The track was dried with squeegees and towels.

On her return, Australian Chloe Covell fell on the decisive lap and cried when leaving the competition. Even so, she took second place with a score of 70.55, and the Dutch Keet Oldenbeuving came in third place with a score of 58.78. The two are some of Rayssa’s best skateboarding friends.

Brazilians Gabi Mazetto (55.23), Maria Lúcia (40.50) and Isabelly Ávila (33.83) were the other finalists in the third and final Street stage of the Pro Tour STU.
