The Civil Guard investigates it as a sexist murder (Madrid). According to sources from the investigation, the aggressor, a 60-year-old man, stabbed his partner of the same age to death with 50 stab wounds and then committed suicide. The Government Delegation against Gender Violence has also described the case as alleged this Sunday through social networks.
The bodies were found by the couple’s son, who called the emergency service of the Community of Madrid. The autopsy has shown that the woman was brutally stabbed and that the man, who had consumed alcohol and medication, died after her. There were no previous complaints, nor were they in the VioGén system, the same sources have indicated.
The call alerting about what had happened occurred around 12:00 on Saturday. The medical team deployed to the scene could only confirm the deaths.
If the case is confirmed, the number of women murdered by their partners or ex-partners this year will rise to 37. Since the campaign began in 2003, there are 1,331 women.
