Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke on the phone with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Saturday. They talked together about the current situation in the Middle East, while also touching on the cease-fire in the Gaza Strip. The TASS agency and the Times of Israel portal drew attention to this, TASR informs.
“There was a wide-ranging exchange of views on the situation in the Middle East region, including developments in the Gaza Strip in connection with the implementation of the ceasefire agreement and the exchange of detainees, the situation surrounding Iran’s nuclear program and issues related to supporting further stabilization in Syria,” the Kremlin statement said.
Discussion of the Middle East
According to the Israeli Prime Minister’s office, the conversation was initiated by the Russian side. Neither Russia nor Israel gave more details.
