Ukraine experienced another night full of attacks. Russian drones hit civilian infrastructure and a solar power plant

Russian drones hit the Odesa region in Ukraine on Sunday. They damaged a solar power plant and civil infrastructure.

On Sunday night, Russian drones damaged residential buildings and civilian infrastructure in Ukraine, including a solar power plant in the Odesa region. Moscow sent a total of 176 drones into its territory, with 37 hitting their target in 14 locations across Ukraine. Russia also announced that its forces occupied the villages of Rivnopilľa and Mala Tokmacka in the Zaporozhye region. TASR informs about it according to the DPA agency.

Russian drones hit the Sumy region the most, where they injured an 86-year-old woman and damaged civilian infrastructure. The air traffic alert in the area was sounded 18 of the past 24 hours.

Damage to the solar power plant

Odesa Region Governor Oleh Kiper reported on Telegram that drones damaged one of the solar power plants in the region. The published photos show a large number of fallen, broken and punctured solar panels.

Since the beginning of the war in February 2022, Russia has been systematically attacking the civilian infrastructure of Ukraine. Moscow justifies this tactic by saying that the electricity produced in power plants is used by the Ukrainian arms industry. Ordinary Ukrainians therefore suffer from frequent power outages, and in some cases even water and heating supplies fail.
