The time is approaching when I will be doing my Saturday shopping more and more often from the Naschmarkt farmers market1 to other, more peripheral markets. It’s still going for about two weeks, but by mid-December at the latest there won’t be much left in the city center except cabbage, cabbage, potatoes and onions. Meanwhile, outside, beyond the belt, artichokes, pomegranates, mallow leaves, various herbs and ripe red peppers are piling up.2
