Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi started on Sunday his tour of European countries. It will be the first stop Greece, where will sign the gas supply agreement. It will then move to France. He will conclude a “historic agreement” with President Emmanuel Macron to strengthen air defense and aviation. On Tuesday, Zelenskyi will also discuss air defense in Spain. TASR informs about it according to the agencies DPA and Reuters.
“He’s waiting for us fruitful diplomacy,Zelenskyi said in a video published on the X social network.Today we have already prepared an agreement with Greece on gas for Ukraine. It will be another route gas supplies, to ensure imports for the winter as much as possible,” he noted. According to him, gas imports from Greece are necessary to compensate for the shortfalls in Ukrainian production due to the ongoing Russian aerial attacks on the energy infrastructure.
Zelenskyi stated that Kyiv allocated funds for the import of gas from European partners and banks based on guarantees from the European Commissionwhile negotiating additional financing with American partners. The Ukrainian president did not provide more details about the notified agreement with France. However, DPA reminds that Paris provided Mirage fighter jets to Kyiv in the past.
