Atlético-MG loses to RB Bragantino before the South American final

Red Bull Bragantino beat Atlético-MG 2-0 on Sunday night (16), in an early game for the 37th round of the Brasileirão. This is the Minas Gerais team’s last commitment before traveling to Paraguay to compete in the Copa Sudamericana final.

Lucas Barbosa and Gustavo Marques scored the goals in Massa Bruta’s triumph at the Cícero de Souza Marques Stadium, in Bragança Paulista. The result meant that the home team reached the 45-point mark and ruled out any chance of relegation to.

Galo, on the other hand, parked at 44 points and remains in 10th place. The Belo Horizonte club faces Lanús, from Argentina, next Saturday (22), at 5pm (Brasília time), at the Defensores del Chaco Stadium, in Asunción.

For the Brasileirão, Atlético returns to the pitch on November 25th, at 9:30 pm, when they host Flamengo at Arena MRV. Bragantino, who rose to eighth place, visits Mengão on Saturday (22), also at 9:30 pm, at Maracanã.

How was the game?

The first half was marked by a better start from Atlético-MG and a high-pressure end from RB Bragantino.

After three minutes, Vitor Hugo, from Atlético, almost opened the scoring with a header, but goalkeeper Cleiton, well placed, made the save.

Then, at 12, Dudu made a good move on the left wing, but finished over the mark. The ball still returned to him, who gave a beautiful pass to Guilherme Arana. The full-back finished strongly, but the ball was deflected and went out for a corner.

From the kick, another chance for Galo: Bernard took a shot into the area and Rony headed it at the first post, forcing Cleiton to stretch to save Bragantino.
