BNDES approves R$ 107.6 million for EMS research center – 11/17/2025 – Panel

The (National Bank for Economic and Social Development) approved financing of R$107.6 million for the company, resources that will be used to expand the company’s research, development and innovation center in Hortolândia (SP).

The financing was approved within the BNDES Mais Inovação program. With the resources, the company plans to double its capacity to develop new research and innovation projects. The expansion is also part of the strategy to increase the pharmaceutical company’s participation in the international market.

EMS intends to create a nucleus dedicated to research and development for foreign markets, with a focus on the European and American markets.

“BNDES support contributes to the development of the national pharmaceutical industry, also strengthening its capacity to innovate”, says the president of BNDES, . “The expansion of infrastructure dedicated to the development of new medicines has the potential to reduce vulnerabilities in the Unified Health System and expand access to healthcare.”

The vice president of EMS, Marcus Sanchez, states that the expansion will contribute to the company’s ability to develop more products. “When we bring innovation to the market, we generate impact not only for the company, but for the entire Brazilian health system”, he says.
