state deputy Ana Campagnolo (PL-SC) suggests that the councilor for Rondônia, Acre or Roraima next year.
It would be a way, she says, to resolve the crisis on the right in Santa Catarina created after the announcement of Carlos’ intention to seek a mandate as senator for the state.
When criticizing the intention, Carlos himself and other people close to the family, who accused her of ingratitude and even betrayal.
“It could be resolved calmly [o impasse] if Carlos chose a state that needs him more, like Rondônia, Acre or Roraima, where President Bolsonaro had many votes and the state lacks leadership”, she says.
“But this initiative in favor of Brazil needs to come from Carlos himself, who I believe has a good heart and will think about the best for everyone”, he adds.
The president’s son, however, shows no signs of changing his mind and choosing another state.
Conservative and avowedly anti-feminist, until she exposed her disagreement regarding the “importation” of Carlos, who will take the place of state politicians on the Senate ticket.
She says she believes that the situation will be overcome, especially with Eduardo Bolsonaro, who has directed the harshest criticism towards her.
“I was sad to think that I could lose Eduardo’s friendship, but I don’t think that will happen. I believe that he maintains the same affection for me that I have for him, and everything will be sorted out soon”, he stated.
She also denies that she is thinking about leaving the PL, due to the crisis. “I am president of PL Mulher in Santa Catarina and I continue to work tirelessly for more memberships and to have increasingly stronger candidates in our party. I feel at home in the PL and have the trust of the party leaders”, he said.
Campagnolo says that he has not expressed these opinions out of self-interest, as he must run for a new term as state representative in 2026. “It’s not a personal issue for me. It’s a matter of principles, in defense of my state”, he says.
