The “Between Dishes and Wines” initiative of the Algarve Wine Commission (CVA) is returning to Albufeira, with its 3rd edition and the support of the local Municipality. The event runs until the end of November, inviting people to discover and value the wines of the Lagoa, Lagos, Portimão and Tavira Denomination of Origin, as well as the region’s Geographical Indication, in harmony with Algarve gastronomy.
During the campaign, restaurants and hotels in the region prepare exclusive menus at special prices, with the aim of promoting wine tourism and reinforcing the Algarve’s regional identity. This gastronomic and wine experience also aims to encourage visits to local establishments and boost consumption habits during the low tourist season.
In Albufeira, three options are available: in Jardins de Vale Parra, a stay for two people in a self-catering apartment with a welcome pack consisting of regional wine and traditional sweets, including a visit to Quinta da Malaca with wine tasting, for 95 euros per night; at the Atlântico Restaurant, a menu consisting of cockle patties with cuttlefish ink, toasted rice with octopus and confit green garlic sauce and carob crême brûlée with tangerine sorbet, accompanied by Villa Alvor red wine, at 36 euros; and at Restaurante Taberna Vicentina, a menu that includes black pork cheeks with homemade chips and sautéed vegetables, accompanied by Quinta da Tôr wine, for 22 euros.
Participation is open to the general public, by visiting participating establishments, with prior reservation being recommended in some spaces.
All information about participants, suggested menus, prices, contacts, locations and times are available.
Albufeira once again stands out as a partner municipality in this initiative that highlights the traditional flavors and stories of the region, stating that they are “Flavors that tell stories. Wines that celebrate the region”.
