Israeli army says it killed Hezbollah member in southern Lebanon

According to a military statement, the target ‘was responsible for communication between the terrorist organization and area residents on financial and military matters’

The Israeli Army announced this Monday (17) that it killed, on Sunday, a man described as a “terrorist from ” in southern Lebanon, where the Ministry of Health reported one death in a bombing .

“Last night (Sunday), the Israel Defense Forces (…) carried out an attack that resulted in the elimination of terrorist Mohamad Ali Shweikh, a member of the terrorist organization Hezbollah, in the Al Mansuri region, in the south of “, states a military statement.

The Army specified that the target was the local representative of the Lebanese Shiite movement in the region.

“He was responsible for communication between the terrorist organization and the residents of the area on financial and military matters. Furthermore, the terrorist worked to confiscate private assets for terrorist purposes,” he added.

“The terrorists’ activities constituted a violation of the agreements between Israel and Lebanon,” the note states. Israel continues to bomb Lebanon despite a ceasefire signed in November 2024, after more than a year of hostilities with Hezbollah.
