Peel, dry and water the dracaena with it. Homemade fertilizer for dried and yellowing leaves
Lack of adequate sunlight, dry air or excess or deficiency of water – all this can cause… The signal that something bad is happening to the dracaena is usually yellowing leaves. They appear singly or in entire groups. It’s important to start acting quickly. First, check whether the problem is not rotting roots. Most often, dracaena roots rot from excess water. In this case, gently remove the plant from the pot and remove excess soil with a brush. Rotten roots are dark brown and often smell unpleasant. Disinfected, cut off all rotten roots with scissors and leave the plant for a few hours in a dry place. After this time, plant it in fresh soil. During the first watering, you can use a fungicidal conditioner, for example garlic decoction.
If the yellowed leaves are not due to rotting roots, you can use orange peel. This is a less known way to fertilize plants. However, it is very effective, especially for flowers that like acidic soil. Dracaena is just such a plant and grows best in soil with a slightly acidic pH, in the range of 5.5–6.5. To also prepare the conditioner, peel 3 oranges and pour warm (but not hot) water over the peels. Set aside for about 24 hours and strain. Water the dracaena with the resulting liquid once a week.
Orange peel conditioner will quickly nourish a dying flower. It improves the structure of the soil by aerating it well and provides the necessary nutrients such as potassium and phosphorus. Regular use of this conditioner will help the dracaena quickly regain its good condition and its leaves will become shiny and green again.
Important care for dracaena. If you want to have a beautiful flower, don’t forget about it
. The large surface of the leaves means that dust often appears on them. Many people forget to regularly clean dracaena leaves and make them shiny. Dust settling on the leaves blocks photosynthesis processes and may weaken the plant. In the case of dracaena, you can also sprinkle it with soft, standing water from time to time. This treatment is especially recommended in autumn and winter, when the indoor air is dry.
