Renan Filho: international perception is better in relation to the country than here

The Minister of Transport, Renan Filho, said this Sunday (16) that the international perception of Brazil is better than the view we have from within the country. He made the statement during his participation in the program Free Channelfrom Band, highlighting that the Stock Exchange also broke records in recent days.

“Let me tell you that the international perception is not what we have here internally. International capital reached 58% of the volume of resources on the Stock Exchange. The stock market is breaking records with international capital because it is more excited about us than the local capital market itself”, assessed Renan Filho.

The minister said that there are no investment portfolios in concessions in various parts of the world and that companies – he mentioned those of European origin – are behind Brazilian projects.

“Brazil today has the largest pipeline, which is the road concession project portfolio in the world”, emphasized the minister. “Since 2007, we have not selected a foreign company to invest in Brazil. Now Vansi, which is one of the largest international infrastructure operators, has returned to participate in our auctions”, he mentioned.

Renan Filho continued saying that Brazil is one of the countries that receive the most international investment in the world and that the prospect of the United States lowering interest rates places domestic securities in the capital market and national investments “among the best on the planet”.

He also said that in many countries it is not allowed to apply the resource and withdraw dividends and cited Argentina – owned by President Javier Milei – as an example. “If the capital is invested there, it cannot leave whenever it wants”, he said about one of the issues that has been among the biggest controversies in recent months.

The minister also said that the country will reach R$35 billion in debenture issues this year. “This law was very important for infrastructure debentures”, he considered.
