Representatives of the Assad regime indicted in Vienna: OLG found no reason for arrest of second defendant

Vienna – As it became known last week, there will be a special trial at the Vienna Criminal Court against two former high-ranking representatives of the Syrian Assad regime. A 61-year-old ex-general, who was brought to Austria by the domestic Office for the Protection of the Constitution in 2015 because of a deal with the Mossad, has been in custody since the end of December. However, the second defendant, Abu R., is at large. According to APA information, the Vienna Higher Regional Court (OLG) saw no grounds for his detention.
