Former player claimed discomfort with the media repercussion of the prison unit, known for housing famous inmates; Santos idol will be in Limeira jail
The former football player was transferred from Penitentiary II in , known as the “Famous Prison”, to the Limeira Resocialization Center, in the interior of . The transfer took place on Monday morning (17), around 8:30 am.
The transfer request was made by the defense of the former athlete, who has been serving a sentence for rape since March 2024. The main motivation was Robinho’s discomfort with the great repercussion generated by the series “Tremembé”, on a streaming platform, which details the local routine. SAccording to reports, the former player told employees that he doesn’t like receiving attention and “being the target of gossip”.
The defense also argued that Robinho has exemplary conduct, with no record of disciplinary offenses, and is a first-time offender. Initially, the request was directed to the Court, but judge Sueli Zeraik de Oliveira Armani indicated that the request should be made directly to the Secretariat of Penitentiary Administration (SAP), as it was an administrative decision, but she did not oppose the change. Resocialization centers were suggested in Bragança Paulista, Rio Claro and Limeira, with the latter being chosen for the transfer.
Robinho was sentenced to nine years in prison for the gang rape of a young Albanian woman, which took place in Milan in 2013.
