He said Sunday that he supports the idea of Republicans in the House of Representatives voting to release the records on the wealthy financier and notorious sex predator — even though he has so far opposed it.
“Republicans in the House must vote to release the Epstein file because we have nothing to hide and because it’s time to put this Republican fraud behind us,” the US president said via Truth Social.
The House of Representatives will consider within the week a proposed law that would compel the Justice Department to release all the material it has on the Epstein case.
Their “relationship with Epstein”
“The Department of Justice has already released tens of thousands of pages about Epstein and it’s about various Democrats,” Trump continued, naming “Bill Clinton, Reid Hoffman, Larry Summers, etc.”
He has been repeatedly accused in recent months of trying to hide aspects of the case that concern him personally — something he denies.
His stance divided the Republican camp, usually completely loyal to him.
Donald Trump distanced himself when he failed to come out hard against his once staunch allies in the MAGA movement, notably Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Green. He withdrew his support for her candidacy over the weekend ahead of the 2026 midterm elections.
“Certain ‘members’ of the Republican party are being ‘used'” and “we can’t let that happen,” the president blasted.
The relevant House committee “can have everything they’re legally entitled to, I don’t care!” he added, capitalizing the last sentence as he usually does for emphasis.
