Unpleasant news from Calgary: Honzek was sidelined by an injury for a long time, Pospíšil has been absent since the beginning of the season

Slovak hockey player Samuel Canadian team Calgary Flames will miss Honzek for an extended period due to an upper body injury. Twenty-one-year-old forward was injured in Sunday’s NHL game with Winnipeg Jets (3-4 pp and sn) after colliding with teammate Mikael Backlund and his status will be assessed on a weekly basis.

Coach Ryan Huska told the Canadian media after Flames practice on Sunday. The unfortunate moment took place in the second period when Honzek was unable to avoid Backlund on the offensive blue line and headed to the locker room after colliding with him. He played only seven minutes in the match.

In the current NHL season, Honzek played 18 games and collected his first points in the pro league for two goals and two assists. Since the beginning of the new season, another Slovak forward, Martin Pospíšil, has been missing from Calgary due to an unspecified injury. The Flames have collected only 13 points in 20 games and are currently the weakest team in the entire competition.
