Education Minister Christoph Wiederkehr (Neos) clearly remembers a task from his own school days that he now describes as pointless: he had to learn the names of 40 rivers by heart. It is precisely this kind of “pure factual communication” that Wiederkehr wants to remove from the upper school curricula and focus more on skills, he said in the “ZiB 2” interview. Wiederkehr communicated his reform of the curricula, which he had already announced to the media on Thursday as “Plan Z”, again on ORF on Sunday.
