The vice-president of the Republic and minister of Development, Industry, Commerce and Services, Geraldo Alckmin, once again showed confidence in signing the final text of the agreement between Mercosur and the European Union.
Previously, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mauro Vieira, had already informed that negotiations on the trade agreement were concluded and that the signature will come when the debate on the topic in the European Council is finalized.
Alckmin participated this Monday, 17th, in a press conference on the seventh day of the 30th United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP30).

The vice-president commented on several topics, including the results achieved by Brazil in the development of new renewable energy sources. “We are going to be the main protagonists of the SAF Sustainable Aviation Fuel”, he said.
On the topic of the transition to ending dependence on fossil fuels, Ambassador Mauricio Carvalho Lyrio, Secretary of Climate, Energy and Environment at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, reinforced that Lula suggested a “road map” to end dependence at the Leaders’ Summit, held before COP30.
He highlighted that the COP is already marked by the president’s directive on energy transition and the decision on the topic was taken in Dubai, at COP28.
