Football’s highest governing body announced on Thursday (13) the nominees for the Puskás and Marta awards, which celebrate the most beautiful goals from last season in men’s and women’s football.
Real Betis used its social networks on Monday (17) to mock the list of nominees for the Puskás Award, published by . In a post that quickly went viral, the Spanish club published a video of a great goal scored by former Anthony, accompanied by the caption “Wait a moment”, with an emoji of a face with a magnifying glass. Puskás and Marta Awards
FIFA announced on Thursday (13) the nominees for the Puskás and Marta awards, celebrating the most spectacular goals of the last season in men’s and women’s football, and Brazil has a triple presence in the dispute. Strikers Alerrandro, formerly of Vitória, and Lucas Ribeiro, from Mamelodi Sundowns, are competing for the men’s award, while Marta, from Orlando Pride, is once again in contention for the trophy that bears her own name. The awards ceremony will take place at The Best 2025 event.
Alerrandro, who currently plays for CSKA Moscow, was nominated for a masterpiece scored when he was still playing for Vitória. In a match against Cruzeiro in August 2024, the striker made a mistake from the edge of the area, covering goalkeeper Cássio and scoring a great goal in a 2-2 draw. The move, of rare happiness and technical precision, went around the world and received recognition from football’s highest authority.
On the international stage, Lucas Ribeiro secured his place among the finalists with a memorable goal in the Club World Cup, in June this year. Queen Marta, in turn, competes again for the women’s prize with a goal scored in the match against Kansas City Current, in November 2024. Shirt number 10 started in a sprint from midfield, dribbled past two opponents, took the goalkeeper out of the play and, despite being under pressure, scored the goal.
