Cloudflare says it has “resolved” flaw that took down ChatGPT, X and more platforms

Cloudflare, the company responsible for managing a significant part of the world’s internet traffic, resolved this Tuesday (18) an outage that left large digital platforms such as ChatGPT and the social network X offline.

The issue, caused by an unusual traffic spike, affected users globally for a few hours until the company implemented the fix.

According to a Cloudflare spokesperson, the incident began around 8:20 am (Brasília time), when an atypical increase in traffic was detected, which started to generate errors on the network. The cause of this spike is still unknown.
