Rafa Silva’s possible departure left Besiktas fans in an uproar. After just one season in Turkey, with 23 goals and 15 assists, the former Portuguese international became one of the team’s most beloved figures, to the point where fans launched a wave of messages on social media asking the player to remain at the club.
Among the many appeals, there were those who went further. Two fans decided to run several meters after the player’s car, already on the road, just to ask him to continue in Istanbul. Rafa, surprised by the situation, ended up warning of the danger of the gesture: “I’m driving, this can’t happen. It’s risky.”
The fans’ devotion comes at a time when there is talk of an alleged disagreement between Rafa and coach Sergen Yalcin. The Turkish press claims that the winger will not be willing to return to play under the coach’s command. Added to the interest coming from Saudi Arabia, the exit scenario is starting to gain strength, something that Besiktas fans deeply fear.
In another video, which is also circulating online, a fan can be seen running alone after the Portuguese player’s car, repeating calls for him to stay at the club. The player gives the same answer: “Be careful. Don’t do that. I’m driving, it’s dangerous.”
